Web Exam Agreement

The web portion of the exam is provided early to give students the opportunity to consider and solve problems of a more comprehensive nature and present a complete solution. Although the web problems are more involved, they utilize material presented in the course or illustrated in the homework exercises and are intended to assess the students' ability to apply conceptual and problem solving skills to physical systems. Some questions are preparatory and point values will be applyed to the use of the material on the lecture exam and some will have point values.

The release of the web exam prior to the lecture exam inevitably provides the opportunity for collaboration among members of the class. Although I expect some discussion on the problems will occur, I insist that each individual is responsible for the production and presentation of his/her own work.

Work is not be divided up among students and collected and assembled to produce a final product.. Duplicate copies or obvious copying of any part of the web exam is prohibited. If I interpret that such copying has occurred, I will,at the very least, divide any points given by the number of students involved in the sharing of work or, depending on the severity, not accept the work at all. In extreme cases, the action will be interpreted as academic misconduct and the student will be referred to the UCO Conduct Office for disciplinary action.

In addition:

  • The Web exam provided must be completed and turned in on the day of the exam. Electronic copies are allowed but be aware that you may be asked follow-up questions using the web material.
  • All work must be presented in complete annotated form.
  • All work must be neat and complete to my standards.

The items listed above must be strictly adhered to prior to issuing any credit for your work.
