Welcome to Introductory Chemistry!

My name is Dr. Mike Jezercak and I’ll be your professor for this course. I am contacting all of you in advance to make you aware of the course website which is on my chemistry web. The page is available through the chemistry website and linked here:
http://www.drjez.com/uco

Once there you can navigate to the Intro Chemistry page and there you will find all the necessary course information including the course syllabus, schedule of chapters and exams along with homework and any ancillary material handed out in lecture and other items you’ll need or find useful during this semester. Please bookmark this page as I also keep updated grades there for you to access.

I encourage you to read the “Advice from a Previous Class”. These are students that successfully completed this demanding course in this very brief time frame.

This course will move along at a very brisk pace and we will begin immediately on the first day. Know that you must be concurrently enrolled in the laboratory section as well as this is a combined course. You will need a laboratory manual immediately on the first day. This will be provided for this experience.

We will NOT be using the online homework site, OWL for this course so you need not purchase an access code.
Please note that I only answer emails through my email address given on the website so, for any communication, please use drjez@uco.drjez.com .

This course is a challenge to most students in a full 16-week semester. Now you will be asked to finish 16-20 chapters in 16 days! This is NOT for the Weak-of-Heart or the slow learner. It will go fast and hard so be prepared.

Student Readiness: UCO’s ‘Are you ready’ for online education survey: https://cece.uco.edu/ready/.

We will begin on the first day so be ready to start. I look forward to working with all of you!
Dr. J
